The Brunswick Area Chamber of Commerce and the Valley City Chamber of Commerce will merge April 1.
The new creation will be known as the Northern Medina County Chamber Alliance.
Melissa Krebs, president and chief executive officer of the Brunswick Area Chamber, will assume the same role with the new alliance.
“We’re better serving our businesses,” Krebs told The Gazette on Thursday. “We are going to be combining resources, which helps in general.”
She said the two boards will also merge. The role of Teri Hradek, the Brunswick organization’s board chair, in the merged chamber has yet to be announced.
She said as many as 350 businesses will be affected — 100 in Valley City and 250 in Brunswick.
“Hopefully, (it will happen) April 1,” Krebs said. “That’s our goal.”
The merger of the two chambers marks the first association of its type in the county.
Other chambers individually serve the cities of Medina and Wadsworth, the villages of Lodi and Seville and the township of Hinckley.
