One man is dead after a two-vehicle crash Wednesday night on state Road 301 and New London Eastern Road in Spencer Township.
At 8:09 p.m., a 2005 Ford F-350, driven by 57-year-old Allen R. Bugg, of the 7500 block of Spencer Road, Spencer, was traveling west on New London Eastern Road, according to a news release from the Medina post of the Ohio Highway Patrol.
The Ford ran through a stop sign and struck a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix traveling south on state Route 301, the patrol said. After contact, the Pontiac went off the roadway and struck a utility pole.
The driver of the Pontiac, 55-year-old Randolph Albert Stiles, was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in Stiles’ car, 48-year-old Lisa Wright, was flown to Summa Akron City Hospital where she was treated and released.
Bugg and his passenger, Lois Bugg, were transported to Lodi General Hospital. Lois Bugg, 56, was flown to Akron General Medical Center via helicopter. She was still listed as a patient but her condition was unavailable Thursday afternoon.
The patrol said the investigation is ongoing but alcohol and there have been no citations in the case.
The patrol was assisted on scene by the Medina County Sheriff’s Office, Lodi Police Department, Town and Country EMS, Spencer Township EMS, Chatham Township EMS and Life Support-Med-Evac.
