A Lodi man was killed in a car crash at U.S. Route 224 and Friendsville Road in Westfield Township on Wednesday night.
According to a release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Jeffrey McElwain, 54, of Lodi was driving west in a 2015 Ford F-150 truck on Route 224 around 8:39 p.m. Wednesday. It collided in the intersection with a 2012 Dodge Ram driven by Harland Hall, 22, also of Lodi. Both trucks went off the road, with the Dodge flipping over and hitting a traffic light pole.
McElwain was pronounced dead at the scene. Hall was taken to Lodi Hospital, where he was treated and released.
The crash remains under investigation, and alcohol is suspected to be a factor, the release states.
