Lodi man struck by vehicle, dies


LODI — A 45-year-old Lodi man died at Lodi Hospital on Saturday after being struck by a vehicle while on foot on state Route 421 earlier that evening.

According to a news release from the Ohio Highway Patrol, pedestrian Cole Filhart, 45, of Lodi, was struck by a 2016 Honda Civic near mile post 2 at 8:06 p.m. Saturday night after entering the roadway.

The driver, 43-year-old Lisa Weyer of West Salem, was traveling southbound on Route 421 when the incident occurred.

Filhart left the scene after the incident and was later transported from a private residence to Lodi Hospital, where he later died.

Lodi police and fire departments and the Medina County Coroner’s Office also responded to the scene.

The Ohio Highway Patrol said no further details were available Sunday.

The incident is under investigation.
