EATON TWP. — Two people were killed in a three-vehicle crash on state Route 82 in Eaton Township on Saturday night that also injured two Brunswick Hills Township residents.

The Ohio Highway Patrol on Sunday identified those involved in the fatal crash about 11 p.m. Saturday near the Rt. 82 Auto Gallery.

Richard Dublin, 48, of Cleveland, was driving a 2016 Toyota Corolla east on Route 82 when he attempted to pass a 2016 Honda CR-V driven by David Fischer, 77, of Brunswick Hills. Dublin struck a 2019 Kia Soul driven by Oscar Deleon, of Lorain, head-on.

The Toyota bounced off the Kia, went airborne and struck the Honda, according to a news release. The Honda and Kia then struck guardrails.

Dublin and Deleon suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash and were pronounced dead at the scene by the Lorain County Coroner’s Office. Dublin was not wearing a seat belt, and alcohol use is suspected.

Fischer and his passenger, 75-year-old Noreen Fischer, suffered non-incapacitating injuries and were transported to Southwest General Hospital and Health Center in Middleburg Heights.
