The Hoopla! Medina County Senior All-Star games have earned reputations for tons of fun among players, and tonight will be no exception at Buckeye High.

Following the theme since Cloverleaf left the Suburban League for the Portage Trail Conference, teams were based on numerical balance. Beginning at 6 p.m., the 3-point contests and games sponsored by the Rotary Club of Brunswick and The Gazette promise to provide memories.

The girls 3-point contest kicks off the festivities and features Brunswick’s Natalie Galaida, the county season (80) and career (182) record holder. Brunswick senior Maddy Ramicone, Medina sophomore Elizabeth Stuart and Medina senior Madison Luthy also will take part.

The Dark Team for the girls game is comprised of Black River’s Grace Channel and Summer Merry, Cloverleaf’s Mckenna Jordan, Maddie Boltz, Jenna Oliver and Bailey Freeland, Highland’s Colleen Flannery and Wadsworth’s Kylee Batey, Maria Busson and Allison Elchlinger and is coached by the Hornets’ James Madison.

The Light Team coached by Medina’s Karen Kase will feature Brunswick’s Angela Fink, Galaida, Ramicone and Anna Krizsa, Buckeye’s Gabby Glancy, Elizabeth Whetstone and Tatum Widenmeyer and Medina’s Luthy, Abby McMullen, Alexa Nau and Katie Neate.

The boys 3-point contest figures to have fireworks, as All-Ohioan Kyle Goessler of Brunswick (61), the Blue Devils’ Tre Massey (58), Highland’s Cole Tessena (64) and Cloverleaf’s Brycen Holliday (45) combined for 228 threes this season.

The boys Dark Team coached by Buckeye’s Tom Harrington consists of Black River’s Caleb Poldruhi, Jonathan Herb, Brennan Scheck and Jay Chidsey, Buckeye’s Brock Brumfield, Michael Knoll, Anthony Watkins and Cam Imes and Brunswick’s Goessler and Aaron Conn.

The Light Team coached by Medina’s Chris Hassinger has the Bees’ Drew Hassinger, Tay Gauthier and Dan Terrion, Highland’s Ryan Chema, Tessena, Connor Klein and Blake Kalina and Wadsworth’s Jack Simmons, Carson Risher, Brendan Merhar and T.J. Lockwood.
