Medina police and the Medina County coroner are investigating the death of a man, whose body was found Monday at a Medina business on West Smith Road, according to a news release.
Medina Lt. Dave Birckbichler said an employee of Medina Supply Co. called police about 12:30 p.m. to report a body in an open, outside storage barn in the 800 block of West Smith Road.
Birckbichler said 20-year-old Brandon Lamiell was pronounced dead at the scene.
Lamiell was not an employee of the business, the lieutenant said, and Lamiell appeared to be homeless.
The cause of death has not been determined. Toxicology and autopsy results are pending, the release said.
According to municipal court records in Medina and Lorain counties, Lamiell was facing a criminal damaging charge in Medina and domestic violence and resisting arrest charges in Lorain.
Medina police arrested Lamiell in February on the criminal damaging charge. Court records list his address as in Brunswick.
In October, Lamiell, whose address was listed as Sheffield Lake, was charged with domestic violence and resisting arrest in Lorain Municipal Court. A protection order also was issued against him. He had a pre-trial scheduled for April 6 on both counts.
Lamiell, who was listed as living in Lorain in July 2015, was found guilty of underage consumption of alcohol and criminal trespass in one case and theft in another case in Medina Municipal Court.
