BRUNSWICK — The spotlight was on 62 Medina County businesses Wednesday evening at the Business at the Barn showcase hosted by the Northern Medina County Chamber Alliance.

Held at the Barn at Mapleside Farms, the two-hour networking event drew about 300 people.

“It’s wonderful,” said Anna Ciancibello, whose family owns Rito’s Bakery in Brunswick. “Business to business is a great way for us to get out there and meet new faces and other businesses in the community.”

The bakery displayed a variety of specialized cakes and giant and miniature cannoli. Their giant cannoli was featured on the Food Network’s television show “Guilty Pleasure.”

Other businesses also offered samples and educational services, as well as free health screenings by Southwest General Hospital.

Business owners and representatives had the opportunity to network prior to the event opening up to the public at 294 Pearl Road.

“Having two hours up front was nice,” said Chip Rogers, senior account representative at ComDoc. “My goal was to meet as many people as I could and learn about their services.”

The event, formerly known as Bring on Brunswick, was born last year after the Brunswick and Valley City chambers merged April 1. The chamber serves Brunswick and Brunswick Hills, Hinckley and Liverpool townships.

Business at the Barn was sponsored by Cuyahoga Community College’s Brunswick University Center, Mapleside Farms, A Taste of Excellence, The Post Newspaper, Southwest General Health Center, MDG Flooring America, Imperial Pest Control, Proximity Marketing and Medina Women’s Journal.
