Man pleads not guilty to series of burglaries around Medina County

MEDINA — A Cleveland man accused of committing a series of burglaries in and around Medina County pleaded not guilty to the charges Thursday in Medina County Common Pleas Court.

Jeffrey Wint, 30, is facing five counts of burglary, all second-degree felonies, stemming from reported break-ins at three homes in Granger Township, one in Hinckley Township and one on Richfield.

A jury trail is scheduled for Aug. 14 in Medina Common Pleas Court before Judge Joyce V. Kimbler.

Kimbler on Thursday set Wint’s bond at $100,000 bond, according to court records. She also ordered Wint to not to have contact with the victims.

Wint is being held in the Marion Correctional Institution on a five-year prison term for prior burglary convictions in Cuyahoga County.

Wint has multiple prior convictions in Cuyahoga County for drug possession and trafficking, burglary, aggravated theft, vandalism and possessing criminal tools in separate incidents between 2006 and 2017.

He does not have any prior convictions in Medina or Summit counties.
