Donations still needed for Not-Forgotten Box


Donations continue for the Not-Forgotten Box. The Medina unit of the Salvation Army in conjunction with The Gazette is accepting items through Dec. 15 for distribution before Christmas.

Donations may be dropped off at The Gazette office, 885 W. Liberty St., Medina, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Organizers said the drive will benefit about 250 local families and 500 to 700 children ranging in age from infant to 18 years old.

Items needed include:

  • toys for all ages;
  • gloves, hats, scarves and coats;
  • newborn items, including diapers, sleepers and onesies;
  • tween and teen items, including electronics, jewelry, perfume or cologne, clothes, sporting goods;
  • boxed potatoes, boxed or canned sweet potatoes, vegetables, gravy mixes or jars of gravy, Jiffy mix, stuffing, cranberry sauce, pancake mix, etc.

The Salvation Army asks for donations of new and unwrapped items. Wrapping paper and supplies also are welcome.

Checks and cash also are welcome. Make checks out to: Not-Forgotten Box. They may be delivered to The Gazette in person or mailed to: The Gazette, 885 W. Liberty St., Medina, OH 44256. Please mark “NFB” on the envelope.
