YORK TWP. — Three drivers were taken to area hospitals late Thursday morning following a three-vehicle crash on Marks Road, authorities said.
A Toyota a minivan struck two oncoming vehicles after going left of center on Marks Road near Baker Road at about 11:25 a.m., Ohio Highway Patrol Trooper Dan Jones said.
“Looks like the red minivan was going northbound and went left of center and it struck the two other vehicles (an Oldsmobile Silhouette and Chevrolet Malibu) going southbound,” Jones said at the scene.
Medina Township Police Chief David Arbogast said the three vehicles involved were driven by an “elderly male” and “two elderly females,” and the drivers were the only occupants in each vehicle.
Arbogast said one driver was taken to Cleveland Clinic Medina Hospital and then transported by emergency helicopter to another hospital. The second driver was taken to Southwest General Hospital. The third driver sustained minor injures and was taken to an unknown area hospiital, he said.
Jones said while all injuries weren’t life-threatening, the driver of the Malibu “took the most serious injury.”
“I’m not exactly sure what that injury is, all I know is maybe some type of fracture in the left arm,” the trooper said.
While Marks Road serves as a border between Medina and York townships, Arbogast said the point of impact was in York Township.
Names of those involved and their status were not immediately available.
