HARRISVILLE TWP. — A small fire broke out in the ceiling of the Steam Café in the food court at the Ohio Station Outlets on Tuesday morning.
Lodi Fire and Rescue responded to the call that came in around 10 a.m. and two responding units had the fire out in a matter of minutes, Lodi Fire Chief Chris Ridenour said.
Ridenour said the fire was caused by a short in a wire and there was just some flame damage after the incident. Smoke had not left behind any damage at the café, he said.
“Very small, maybe $1,000 worth of stuff,” said Ridenour about the damage left behind.
“I mean, very, very small.”
Heather Broadsword, general manager and marketing director, said in a social media post that the fire did not close the shopping center or food court.
“The food court (was) re-opened except for the café,” she wrote on Facebook.
Ohio Station Outlets is entering its 23rd year.
The outlet mall has served the area since 1996.
Broadsword said in January that the 312,546-square-foot railroad themed retail space currently has 41 retail stores and 12 office spaces filled.
