MEDINA — Medina County Treasurer John Burke said Friday his office mailed 68,857 second-half 2019 real estate tax bills to property owners in Medina County.

The official due date for these property tax bills is July 12. The total amount billed is $123,598,702.

Information about payment options can be found at medinacountytreasurer.com.

Credit card payments can be completed over the phone by calling (888) 607-8389.

Payments may be made in person at the treasurer’s office in the Medina County Administration Building, 144 N. Broadway St., Medina, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. On the due date of July 12, the office will be open until 6 p.m.

If paying in person, be sure to have your tax bill with you. Payments may be made via check, cash, Visa, MasterCard and Discover. American Express is not accepted at the counter.

The vendor for credit card payments will assess a convenience fee of 2.5 percent on the payment amount.

Tax payments that are mailed must be postmarked no later than the due date to avoid a 5 percent penalty. Payments made after July 22 will be assessed a 10 percent penalty.

In addition to paying in person or by mail, many taxpayers are taking advantage of online payments. Electronic checks, ACH, PayPal and credit card payments can be completed online through the treasurer’s website at www.medincountytreasurer.com.

Just click “Search and Pay Taxes” in the left column and then enter an address or name or parcel number to find tax bill amounts.

“It’s a safe and easy way to pay your taxes,” Burke said in a statement.

There is a $1.50 vendor fee for an electronic check. PayPal and credit cards have a vendor fee of 2.5 percent on the payment amount.

“For those who pay their bills on a smartphone, I encourage them to try our mobile connection,” he said. “There is no app to download, just use the browser on your phone to go to our website www.medincountytreasurer.com. In three easy clicks, you can look up a tax bill, payment history or make a payment.”

If paying by check, 24-hour drive-up drop boxes are at the following locations:

  •  Treasurer’s office, Administration Building, 144 N. Broadway St. Medina;
  •  Brunswick Municipal Center, 4095 Center Road;
  •  Lodi Library, 635 Wooster St.;
