Rep. Kucinich wants to stay in Congress despite uncertain district

CLEVELAND — An eight-term Ohio Democrat whose congressional district could be eliminated in redistricting says he will fight to stay in Congress and promote liberal policies.

Dennis Kucinich, of Cleveland, told backers in a “Dear Friend” letter today that he has “every intention of staying in Congress no matter what the special interests do to my district.”

He didn’t tip his hand on where he might run if his district is eliminated, but adjacent districts are held by fellow Democrats Marcia Fudge and Betty Sutton.

The GOP will control redistricting in Ohio, which will lose two seats reflecting U.S. population shifts.
