Thirty-one items plus holiday wrapping paper were donated Monday, the first day of this year’s charity drive, at The Gazette.
The Medina unit of the Salvation Army in conjunction with The Gazette is accepting items through Dec. 15 for distribution before Christmas for the Not-Forgotten Box.
Organizers said the drive will benefit about 250 local families and 500 to 700 children ranging in age from infant to 18 years old. Items needed include:
- toys for all ages;
- gloves, hats, scarves and coats;
- newborn items, including diapers, sleepers and onesies;
- tween and teen items, including electronics, jewelry, perfume or cologne, clothes, sporting goods;
- boxed potatoes, boxed or canned sweet potatoes, vegetables, gravy mixes or jars of gravy, Jiffy mix, stuffing, cranberry sauce, pancake mix, etc.
The Salvation Army asks for donations of new and unwrapped items. Wrapping paper and supplies also are welcome.
Checks and cash also are welcome. Make checks out to: Not-Forgotten Box. They may be delivered to The Gazette in person or mailed to: The Gazette, 885 W. Liberty St., Medina OH 44256. Please mark “NFB” on the envelope.
