BRUNSWICK — Firefighters from Brunswick and Brunswick Hills Township had a house fire under control Monday morning in less than an hour.

Brunswick Lt. Russ Merhaut said the department received the call at 11:34 a.m.and had the fire extinguished by 12:14 p.m. at 1428 McKinley Ave.

Merhaut said no one was injured in the fire, but a dog was treated for smoke inhalation.

Merhaut said the cause of the fire remains under investigation and a damage estimate was not immediately available

“The fire was in the rear of the house on the first floor,” Merhaut said. “I think (the house) is uninhabitable.”

According to the Medina County auditor’s website, the property is owned by David Hammand.
