An unidentified man was transported by emergency helicopter to an area hospital after a Wednesday accident at about 6:40 p.m. in a parking lot next to Cloverleaf Schools’ baseball fields in the 8300 block of Friendsville Road in Westfield Township.

“Obviously we had a construction-related accident here,” Medina County sheriff’s Deputy Dave Pries said at the scene.

He said he could not disclose the man’s age, name or accident details. When reached by phone, Cloverleaf Superintendent Daryl Kubilus said he did not have specific information regarding the accident.

“The contractor was beginning the process of stripping the asphalt off the parking lot,” Kubilus said. He said the crew began work on the project Wednesday, which is scheduled to be completed before the start of the school year.

Pries said the investigation is ongoing.
