Police: Tens of thousands stolen from Wadsworth Eagles club

WADSWORTH TWP. — The Medina County Sheriff’s Office said between $40,000 and $50,000 was taken from a safe about 3 a.m. Monday at the Wadsworth Eagles Aerie 2117.

Sheriff Chief Deputy Ken Baca said detectives are looking through surveillance video and investigating the case. Details on how the club was entered and who reported the theft were not available.

Nothing else was reported stolen.

Baca said he didn’t know why such a large sum of money was on hand at the Eagles club, 9953 Rittman Road. Trustees at the club were not available for comment.

“(The Eagles club) was also broken into a couple years ago and had a substantial amount of money taken then,” he said.

The men convicted in the previous case still are in prison, Baca said.
