James R. Carpenter, 86, of Seville, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017. He was born April 11, 1930, in Reedy, West Virginia, to the late Roy R. and Clara (Lewellen) Carpenter. James retired from the Ford Motor Co. in Brookpark with 35 years of service. He served his country proudly as a U.S. Air Force Veteran.
James put his family before everything else, especially his grandchildren. His kindness allowed him to always be willing and available to help anyone in need. James thoroughly enjoyed his garden and his Seville coffee group.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Lois J. (Ashley) Carpenter; his dear children, Ken (Mandy) Carpenter, Debbie Carpenter and Paul (Jackie) Carpenter; beloved grandchildren, Paul J., Tommy and Ashley; brother, Roy (Mary Ann) Rishel and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family extends a special thank you to his neighbors, Rich and Cathy Weiss and Gene and Theresa Gore.
He was preceded in death by an infant son and his brothers, Kenneth, Walter, Paul, and Billy Carpenter and his sisters, Irene Hudson, Velma Carpenter, Betty Kelly, Lucille Armstrong, Ernestine Rogers and Wilma Jo Smith.
A Graveside Service, with Military Honors, will be held in the Spring.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Medina Co., 5075 Windfall Rd., Medina 44256, in James' memory, for the wonderful care they provided.
