June Marie Yost Bliton, 85, of Medina, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2017. She was born June 21, 1932 in Buffalo, New York, to the late Carl and Zella Pattengell Yost.
June was a devoted wife and mother. She had a great love for quilting and excelled in the craft. June attended many classes and volunteered as a "Quilt Angel" at the International Quilt Festival in Houston. Many of her quilts were given away to charity events and brought comfort to each person who received one. Her family is blessed to have some of her amazing quilts. June was an avid golfer with her husband Jim. They followed the sport by attending many tournaments including the British Open and the Masters. She loved to travel through Ohio's Amish community and greatly admired their work. June volunteered for over 30 years at the Medina County Hospital. A long time resident of Medina, she greatly enjoyed participating in local events. The Cleveland Indians had a lifelong fan in June.
June was a member of Medina Church of Christ and volunteered with the ladies group to make quilts. She was a resident of the Western Reserve Masonic Home in Medina.
June is survived by her son, Robert and wife, Catherine Bliton; daughter-in-law, Linda Bliton and grandsons, Christopher Bliton, Matthew Bliton, Ryan Bliton, Reilly and wife Whitney, Bliton and Jarrett Bliton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond "Jim" Bliton; son, Richard Bliton; sisters, Mildred Wilson, Doris Schwab and Carlene Wheaton, as well as her parents.
Private family services will be held at a later date, with interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
