Fred Thewlis, 81, of Medina and wintering in Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018. He was born December 31, 1936 in Eccles, West Virginia, to the late Fred and Ethel (nee McElroy) Thewlis.
Fred retired as a Maintenance Supervisor from General Motors in Parma, after 37 years. He was a member of several organizations: The League of Ohio Sportsmen, Parma Archery Club, Gold Wing Riders Association and a former member of the Medina Bird Club. He was an avid Lake Erie fisherman.
He will be dearly missed by his beloved wife of 62 years, Barbara (nee Dearborn); children, Ronald (Jennie), Patricia (Andrew) McNulty; grandchildren, Katelyn (Jordan) Koppelberger, Kelly (fiance, Jeremiah Landi), Andrew (Samantha) McNulty, Megan (Travis) Landis and brothers, Robert (Catherine) and Dave (Kristine).
Friends may join the family for visitation Tuesday, January 16, 2018 from 11 A.M. to 12 Noon at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 1642 Pearl Road (1/2 mile South of Route 303), Brunswick. A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memory Gardens, Brunswick.
