Bonnie Lynn Stewart, 51, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2017 in Cleveland after a longtime courageous battle with Lupus. Bonnie was born August 17, 1966 in Lakewood, to Robert and Barbara (Zander) Rakusan.
She was a certified ophthalmologic technician for Dr. Thomas Chi of Medina for many years. Bonnie was the founder and creator of an online fibromyalgia support group "Butterfly Wings." She will always be remembered for her love of cooking and baking.
Bonnie is survived by her beloved husband, David, to whom she was married 18 years; daughter, Lara Rose Zavatchen (Samantha Lewis); parents, Bob and Barbara; brother, Robert (Tammy) Rakusan; mother-in-law, Joyce Stewart and numerous other family members.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Walter and Rose Zander; her paternal grandmother, Bessie Rakusan and father-in-law, Lee Stewart.
The family would like to thank the Medina Fire Department, Life Support Team and the staff of the Cleveland Clinic for the compassion and support shown to them through this difficult time.
A celebration of Bonnie's Life will be held at 6:15 P.M., Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the Medina United Methodist Church, 4747 Foote Rd., Medina, OH 44256 with a reception to follow. The family will receive friends from 5 P.M. until the time of the celebration Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to assist with Bonnie's medical expenses.
