John "Jack" Leonard, Jr., 71, of Medina, passed away Friday, January 12, 2018. Jack was born in Elyria on June 9, 1946, to the late John J., Sr. and Coletta (Schaefer) Leonard.
He honorably served his Country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Whether it was work or play, Jack was a "car guy". His passion for cars led him to become owner of Burbank Automotive and a member of the '65-'66 Full Size Chevy Club and the VCCA. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Jack is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Debra (Anderson); sons, Troy (Angela), Corey (Laura) and Drew (Jamie) Leonard; grandchildren, Addison Leonard, Amber Miller, Kylie and Logan Leonard and Parker and Cody Leonard; great-grandchildren, Braylen and Peyton; brothers, Joe, Don (Nancy) and Ben (Paula) Leonard; sisters, Kathy Mowery, Sue (Bob) Traylinek, Nancy (Aaron) Tinney and Carolyn (Glenn) Squire and his father-in-law, Richard Anderson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Kenny Leonard.
A memorial gathering for Jack will take place Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 4 to 8 P.M., at Waite and Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina. A Celebration of Jack's Life will be held Friday, January 19, 2018 at 11 A.M., in the funeral home. Internment with Military Honors will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, American Lung Association or the American Cancer Society.
