Howard N. Jackson, 87, of Wadsworth, died Thursday, January 18, 2018 at his residence, surrounded by his family. Howard was born January 9, 1931 in Braxton County, West Virginia, to Blondie Waitman and Olma Belle (Plunty) Jackson.

He served in the U.S. Army as a Corporal during the Korean War and married Bluette A. Day on July 2, 1954. Howard worked at Barefoot for 29 years and later retired from Wadsworth City Schools.

He was a member of Ambassador Baptist Church, where he visited many members of the church in his free time. Howard enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and spending time with his loved ones, especially his great-grandchildren.

Howard will be deeply missed by his wife of 63 years; children, David Ray Jackson of Akron, Donna Jean Cole of Sterling and Kenneth Lee Jackson of Cape Canaveral, Florida; grandchildren, Angel Ann (Mark) Licot, Jennifer Ann Jackson, Stephanie Michelle Jackson and Troy Allen (Cassie) Siders; great-grandchildren, Greg Licot, Justin Thomas Wolfe, Kylie Jackson, Caroline Gibson, Erica Jackson, Gabe Van Zile, Alexas and Jesse James Jackson; brother James (Shirley) Jackson of Illinois and sisters, Liz (Ronnie) Pepper of Petroleum, West Virginia and Mary Sue (Mark) Lipscomb of Harrisville, West Virginia.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charles and Gary Don Jackson and sisters, Betty Dawson, Kate Skinner, Judy Lester and Barb Black.

Services will be Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 11 A.M. at Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel, Seville, with Pastor Michael Decker and Pastor Jerry Hackworth officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, where Military Rites will be held.
