Richard G. Robertson, 75, of Medina, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018 after a determined and courageous battle with cancer. He was born June 15, 1942 in Cleveland, to the late Peter and Frances (nee Cromie) Robertson.
Rich graduated from Purdue University with a B.S. in industrial engineering and he retired as plant engineer at Annaco, Inc. in Akron. Throughout his career, he also worked for Hytek, where he received a patent for his work removing hexavalent chromium from water systems and at Chick Master, where he designed the building and served as plant manager.
Rich was intelligent, witty and had a deep love for his family and friends. He also truly enjoyed working with his hands and he could fix or build anything. Throughout his life, he gave his time volunteering with the Medina United Church of Christ, Cub Scout Pack 3501 in Medina and various youth baseball organizations.
Rich is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Patricia S. (nee Stevens) Robertson; cherished children, Dr. Steven P. (Julie Malone), Andrew R. (Allison) and Michael G. (Sarah) Robertson; adored grandchildren, Julia, Danny, twins Evan and Grace, Ethan and Elise; step-grandchildren, Marissa and Ryan; sister-in-law, Marian Robertson and his brother, Alan K. (Janie) Robertson.
Rich was preceded in death by his brother, David P. Robertson and his faithful golden retriever, "Laddie".
Family will receive friends Friday, February 2, 2018 from 3 to 7 P.M., at the Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
