Carl G. Kovalchik


Carl G. Kovalchik, 83, formerly of Medina, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018 at the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky. Carl was born December 6, 1934 in Cleveland, to the late George and Mary (nee Hosko) Kovalchik. He had resided in Medina for many years.

Carl was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving from 1953-1957. He was a well-known barber in Medina, where he started his business in 1958. Carl was also a licensed real estate agent. One of his enjoyments was his membership with fellow Medina Honeycomb Chordsmen.

Carl is survived by his daughter, Kim Ii (Jeffrey) of California; four grandchildren; sister, Elaine Henry and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Koch; brother, William Kovalchik and sister, Rosemary Reutter.

Friends may call Monday, February 5, 2018 from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Bauer Funeral Home, 2089 Columbia Road, Valley City. A funeral service will be at 11 A.M., Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at the funeral home. The Reverend Luke Lindon will officiate. Interment with Full Military Honors will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Seville.
