Sebastian J. Ricco, 86, formerly of Medina and residing at The Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky, died Friday afternoon, February 2, 2018 at the home, following a brief illness. He was born May 14, 1931 in Cleveland, to the late Carmelo and Caroline (Valore) Ricco.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. Sebastian was a long time business owner in Slavic Village owning and operating Ricco's Beauty Salon. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the first President of the Slavic Village Association and past President of the Brooklyn Exchange Club. He enjoyed horses and wine making.
He is survived by his children, Tony (Marlene) Ricco, Sebastian J. Pivnicka, Tammy Hale, Carmello Ricco, Caroline (Gary) Martin, Sebastian Ricco, Saundra Ricco, Mario Ricco, Bianca Ricco, Felicia Ricco, Olivia Ricco; favorite son-in-law, Alan Harrington; 12 grandchildren, Esther Martin, Elijah Ricco, Malaya Ricco, Violet Ricco, Nicholas (Melissa) Ricco, Bryan Ricco, Samantha Enniper, Mya Reisinger, Jenarae Reisinger, Brendon Reisinger, Ethan Reisinger, Tharon Reisinger, Brianna Reisinger and three great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Emily and Isabella.
Friends may call Thursday, February 8, 2018 from 12 Noon until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 1 P.M. at the Ohio Veterans Home Giffin Chapel. The Reverend Tommy Rodriguez will officiate. Entombment will be in the Western Reserve Memorial Garden in Chesterland.
