Ellen Virginia Browning, 83, of Lodi, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at the Cleveland Clinic. She was born April 12, 1934 in Raymond City, West Virginia to James and Zelma (Shank) Adamson.

She graduated from Poca High School in Putnam County, West Virginia and married Carlos Browning on March 27, 1953 in Poca, West Virginia. They had resided in Cleveland and later moved to Medina County in 1968. Carlos founded the Truth Baptist Church in 1975, where he served as Pastor for 20 years.

Ellen's life was dedicated to raising their five children, as well as supporting her husband as a Pastor's wife. Some of her hobbies included gardening, canning and crafting. She enjoyed watching birds and made sure they were fed. She enjoyed their home place for many years, as it was very prosperous in supplying food and great joy for her children and grandchildren. She always said that the home place was a gift that God gave and was as close to Heaven as she could get without actually being there. She had a passion for Christ and made sure her family knew how important it was to not only know about God but to make sure they knew about eternal salvation as well as having a relationship with Jesus Christ. She was a prayer warrior and studied her Bible and quoted scripture every time it would come to mind, as well as having scripture written on pieces of paper all over her home.

Her life here is finished and Heaven is now her home. She's gathered round with loved ones that she's waited to see for so long.

Surviving are daughters, Deborah Kemp of Wooster, Lisa (Dwayne) Freeman of Lodi; sons, Rick (Lynn) Browning of Wooster, David (Gloria) Browning of Barberton, Kevin Browning of West Salem; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carlos; grandson, Kevin Browning; son-in-law, Rick Kemp; two sisters and two brothers.

Funeral service will be Monday, March 5, 2018 at 11:30 A.M. at the Parker Funeral Home, 210 Medina St., Lodi, (330) 948-1122. Pastors Don Snow and Brad Ingram will officiate.
