Bernard D. "Barney" Walter, 80, of Medina, passed away Saturday, July 21, 2018. Barney was born September 9, 1937 in Valley City, to the late Victor and Anna (nee Wirkner) Walter.
In his youth, Barney was an avid hunter and he always loved being outdoors. He also loved farming and the Cleveland Indians. Barney worked many years as a roller operator with Kokosing. Barney was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Barney is survived by his wife of 61 years, Beverly; his children, Lori Beaumont, Darlene (Ed) Little, Bernard Walter, Jr. and David (Michelle) Walter; grandchildren, Candice (Matt) Kime, Brittany Little, Rachel Walter and Wayne Walter; great-grandchildren, AJ Little, Chandler Kime, Sydney Kime, Brandon Kime, Ava Kime and Carson Kime; sisters, Mary Dangelo and Norma Duplaga; brother, Charles (Loretta) Walter and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Lockyer and brothers-in-law, Julius Duplaga and Patrick Dangelo.
Funeral Mass will be 10 A.M., Friday, July 27, 2018 at St. Martin of Tours, 1800 Station Road. Valley City, where friends may call Friday from 9 until 10 A.M. The Reverend Dan Reed, officiating. Burial will be in St. Martin Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
