Richard (Dick) Glenn, 86, of Lodi, passed away suddenly Saturday, August 25, 2018. He was born March 3, 1932 in Rochester, New York.
He developed a love of sailing with his father, George on Lake Ontario. He graduated from Clarkson College of Technology, subsequently serving as an Officer in the U.S. Army Corps. of Engineers stationed in Alaska. Dick married Wanda (Hendon) of Kansas City and after his Military Service they settled in N.E. Ohio. He worked 37 years at Babcock & Wilcox in Barberton, initially in power generation and many years in Naval propulsion.
He was a long time member of the Chippewa Yacht Club, the American Legion and the Eagles and as an avid golfer was part of numerous golf leagues in the area.
He is survived by his son, Robert of Houston, Texas; life partner, Catherine Vizer of Lodi; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Dick was preceded in passing by his wife, Wanda and son, William "Willy G", both of Lodi.
A visitation will be Friday, August 31, 2018 from 4 to 8 P.M. at Parker Funeral Home, 210 Medina St., Lodi, with a memorial service at 11 A.M., Saturday, September 1, 2018 at the same location. Pastor Rob Glenn (grandson) will officiate. Interment will occur at 10 A.M. on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at The Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd., Seville.
