Marion "Whitey" Marcum, 80, of Medina, passed away Monday, August 27, 2018 at Medina Hospital, following a lengthy illness. He was born September 24, 1937 in Williamson, West Virginia, to Sherman and Cynthia (Kennedy) Marcum. Whitey moved to Medina in 1955 and married Neva Jane Norris on June 5, 1960.
They resided in South Carolina while Whitey served in the U.S. Army from 1961-1963. They returned to Spencer, where they lived before settling in York Township 52 years ago. Whitey was the owner and operator of Whitey's Auto Body, and Whitey's Moving Trucks in Medina. He enjoyed old cars, boating, camping and the beach.
He is survived by his children, Jim Marcum of Medina, Julie Fox of Spencer, Kim (Al) Baker of Medina, Scott (Jessica) Marcum of Medina; grandchildren, Nick, Alex and Audrey Baker, Lauren and Hanna Fox, Brock and Tyler Marcum; great-granddaughter, Kylee Baker.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Neva Jane on July 20, 2018.
Visitation will be Friday, August 31, 2018 from 5 to 7 P.M. at Parker Funeral Home, 202 E. Main St., Spencer, 330-648-2180. A funeral service will be private, with burial following at Spencer Cemetery.
