Michelle Anne "Shelly" Green, 30, of Akron, formerly of Medina, passed away Thursday, August 30, 2018 at the Cleveland Clinic, after a lengthy battle with Cystic Fibrosis and Kidney Failure. Shelly was born July 8, 1988 in Barberton, to James H. and Diana (Daves) Green.
She graduated from Buckeye High School in 2006 and attended Ohio State University and Baldwin Wallace, where she majored in Exercise Science. Growing up, Shelly was active in various sporting programs, cheerleading and in marching band. Her great love was ice hockey and she loved playing on the Ohio State Club Team and for the Ohio Flames. She was an avid reader and enjoyed following the Cleveland Indians and the Columbus Blue Jackets. Shelly will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
Surviving are her parents, Jim and Diana Green of Akron; her brother and sister-in-law, Christopher and Laura (Sullivan) Green of Livermore, California; two nephews and niece, Garrett, Aidan and Addison; maternal grandparents, Robert and Anne Daves of Akron and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, William and Mildred Green and two uncles.
Services will be Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 11 A.M. at the Creston Community Church, 111 Sterling St., Creston, Ohio with Pastor Josh Chaffin officiating. Burial will be in Mound Hill Cemetery in Seville. Friends may call Monday, September 3, 2018 from 5 to 8 P.M. at Murray Funeral Home, 173 S. Main St., Creston.
