Ruth F. Falconer

Ruth F. Falconer, 95, passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2018, two days prior to her 96th birthday. She was born in Northville, South Dakota on September 7, 1922, to the late Frank and Edna (Ayers) Patten.

Ruth moved to Medina in 1943, where she met her husband, Clair. She enjoyed serving her community as presiding judge during elections and in various different retail positions until the age of 90. Some of the stores included Standard Drug, Ziegler's and Carlisle's Department Stores and most recently Kohl's Department Store.

Ruth was a 70 year plus member of United Church of Christ, Congregational. She was a member in the Pythian Sisters, where she served as District Deputy Grand Chief. She supported her girls in the musical arts and Girl Scout activities. Ruth could be found on Friday evenings listening to the concerts on the Square. She enjoyed needle work and gardening, but most of all she enjoyed caring for her family.

Ruth is survived by her daughters, Frances (Earl K. Jr.) Mack, Donna McClung, Ruth Ann Falconer, Sandra Getty and Gayle Rogers; grandchildren, Christine (David) Baker, E. Kenneth (Emilie) Mack, III, Jennifer (Jesse) Kaine, Gary David (Ashley) McClung, Jr., Sarah (Jason) Shine, Lisa (Matthew) Greenawalt, Brandy Rogers, Kenneth J. Rogers, Jr. and Stephanie Rogers; Ruth also had 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Clair E.; her son-in-law, Kenneth J. Rogers, Sr.; grandson, Edward A. McClung and sisters, Leone Walters, Maybelle Beste, Margaret Snyder and Opal Kushman.

Family will receive friends Wednesday, September 12, 2018 from 4 to 7 P.M. at Waite and Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M., Thursday, September 13, 2018 at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Spring Grove Cemetery.
