Paul F. McMahon
Paul F. McMahon, 81, of Jackson, Michigan, formerly of Medina, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital with his family at his side. He was born March 22, 1937, to Flora (Benoit) and Fredrick McMahon in Groveton, New Hampshire.
He graduated from Groveton High School. After graduation he moved to Richmond, Virginia and served in the U.S. Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Paul was employed with the Veterans Administration Hospital system for over 40 years. His career took him from coast to coast.
He was married to Joan (States) on May 3, 1969 in American Martyrs Catholic Church in Scottsburg, Indiana. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier in Medina for many years and most recently, Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church in Jackson, Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Shannon; parents, Fredrick and Flora McMahon; sister and brother-in-law, Hugh and Barbara Fitzgerald; brother-in-law, William Adkins and mother and father-in-law, William and Faye States.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Joan (States) McMahon; daughter, Erin (Mark) Hetherington; grandsons, Blake Thomas and Logan Reece; sisters, Pauline Sorensen and Sally Adkins, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He greatly enjoyed traveling, but his greatest joy was spending time with his grandsons and being involved with their sporting events. He will be greatly missed.
His internment will take place Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Crothersville Cemetery in Crothersville, Indiana.
