Paul Wayts, Jr., 71, of Creston, died unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, February 7, 2019 after a period of declining health. Paul was born August 5, 1947 in Bellaire, Ohio, to the late Paul and Sylvia (Landis) Wayts, Sr. and was a 1965 graduate of Norwayne High School.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1966-1969 and on July 19, 1969 he married the former Glenda M. Gordon who survives. He retired from the Packaging Corp. of American in Rittman after 24 years of service and had made his home in Creston for the past 43 years.

Paul was active in his children's growing up having coached pee wee football for 10 years as well as baseball and girls softball. He enjoyed watching sports and loved to hunt and fish.

Surviving are his wife, Glenda; children, David Wayts of Creston and Sharon (Joseph) Tavernelli of Rittman; grandchildren, Sierra, Danika, James and Natasha; sister, Barbara (Ronald) Olson of Creston and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Millie Wayts; brother, Dean Taylor; an infant brother, Gary Wayts and a sister, Glenna Siers.

Services will be Monday, February 11, 2019 at 11 A.M. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with burial following at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Sunday, February 10, 2019 from 2 to 4 P.M. at the funeral home.
