George E. Cowan
George Everett Cowan, 81, of Bedford and former longtime Medina County resident, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, February 9, 2019. He was born January 4, 1938 in Cleveland, to George and Elizabeth (Harper) Cowan.
George graduated from Solon High School in 1956. He farmed most of his life and had served as President of the Medina County Farm Bureau and also director of the Medina County Holstein Association.
He is survived by his wife, Sondra; son, Tim (Sheri) Cowan; daughter, Faye (Paul) Schumacher; granddaughters, Lindsey (Brandon) Stricklett, Brittany Schumacher, Courtnay (Kevin) Holler, Melody Schumacher; grandson, Evan Schumacher; great-grandchildren, Sophia, Grant and Carson Stricklett and Hadley and Hunter Holler; niece, Diane; nephew, Wayne; great-nieces and nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Michael and brother Charles.
Visitation will be Friday, February 15, 2019 from 10 to 11 A.M. at Parker Funeral Home, 210 Medina Street, Lodi, (330) 948-1122, where the funeral service will immediately follow visitation beginning at 11 A.M. Pastor Cornell Carter will officiate. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Homerville.
