Ricky D. Gant was born July 31, 1956 to Winfield Gant and Josephine Evans in Medina. He was called to everlasting rest on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at the age of 62.
He spent most of his adolescent years in Ohio where he graduated from Medina High School. It was there where he met and married Susan (nee Price) Taylor; from this union came his two children. Shortly after relocating to Oklahoma he discovered his passion for the hospitality field. He worked at a number of food service establishments until finally retiring after 28 years of dedication. Ricky, also known as "Itch" enjoyed fishing, westerns, a good card game, HIS money and most of all spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Winfield Gant and Josephine Evans; stepfather, Walker "Chubby" Evans; brother, Michael Gant and his devoted friend, Jimmy Childers.
He leaves to carry on his legacy and forever cherish his memory his daughter, Danielle Gant of Dallas, Texas; his son, Ricky Gant, Jr. (Patricia) of Japan; his grandchildren, Chase, Jayde and Kenji of Japan; sisters, Louise McMorris and Carol Robinson, both of Medina and Barbara Hill of Alabama; brothers, Marcus Gant of Medina and Walker Evans, Jr. of Akron; beloved friend, Susan Taylor of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; girlfriend, Gayle Williams of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Celebration of Life will occur at Second Baptist Church, 451 Bronson St., Medina on Friday, May 10, 2019 at 6 p.m.
