Elaine M. Frankowski, 83, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2019. Born in Youngstown, to John and Mildred Pazek. She graduated from Lowellville High School and attended the University of Youngstown.
It always made us chuckle how a big city girl at heart was born and raised in such a small town. After meeting our father, Ed they moved to Parma Heights in 1964, where Elaine became involved in Holy Family Catholic Church. She became the president of the Altar and Rosary Society, girl scout leader, school librarian and many other areas, where there was a need. Her jobs outside the home took her in many different directions, including a monthly book review on the local radio station.
The Frankowski family then moved to Medina County in 1974, where she continued to raise her family and where she and our dad started embarking on more travel adventures. After our dad's retirement, they made the move to Wilmington, North Carolina in 1988. Elaine's passion for administration and keeping offices running smoothly, brought her to many different jobs including sales at one of the beach hotels, banking and a pharmaceutical company. She also become involved in Wilmington's local chapter of the IAAP (International Association of Administrative Professionals). After moving back to Medina in 1998, she discovered a local IAAP chapter did not exist, so she worked to form it. In 2001, the Medina County chapter was officially created and Elaine is listed as the Founder and first President.
Since Elaine was an avid reader and lover of books, it was only appropriate that the final job in her career brought her to the Medina County District Library, where she held the position of Executive Assistant to the Director for over 10 years. She always said this was, by far, her favorite job in her working life and it was an extra bonus that this was the place she met some of her dearest friends.
After taking care of our dad as his health declined and after his passing in 2012, Elaine then enjoyed spending her time with family, meeting her dear friends for lunch and dinners, volunteering at Medina Hospital and one of her favorite pastimes, purse, jewelry and shoe shopping. If clubs or organizations exist in Heaven, our mom will surely be the president of several of them.
Please join us in prayer as we lift Elaine to her Heavenly Home, where she'll be reunited with our dad, her parents and many other loved ones.
Elaine is survived by her loving children, Dave (Linda Volpe), Debbie Toth (John) and Diana; dear grandmother of David (Cristina Mahl), Jason (Lisa), Carli Brasacchio (Carmine) and Nicole (Darren Schofield) and beloved great-grandchildren Andrew, Kaitlyn, Evan, Luca, Mila and Stella.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church, 606 E. Washington St., Medina. The family will receive friends, Tuesday, June 4, 2019 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Waite and Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina.
